Scuba driving is a great hobby, but if you have a true love for diving you could make it your profession. Divers are needed all over the world for a number of different reasons and because of the knowledge needed to dive, are paid well for their work.
Divers can find work usually in industry, with jobs on oil rigs or other types of massive industry.
Choosing a profession
You may think you love diving, but ask yourself if you could do it every day. Professional divers spend massive amounts of times in the water without breaks, usually handling large, dangerous equipment. These dives are not for pleasure an entail a large amount of work every time. This is something to consider before committing yourself to a life of diving.

Scuba diving gear and equipment is highly expensive and most likely you will have to purchase this yourself. Divers are paid high amounts because of the highly dangerous nature of their work, with chances of death high at all times.
Because of the high risk nature of the work there is often a high demand for committed, hardworking divers to do good work for companies. Most of this work is based offshore, which can mean staying away from home for months on end.
As with any profession it is recommended that you do a large amount of research before committing to this. Make sure you have the knowledge, skills and commitment to dive for work.
