Thank God For Digital Technology
I wanted to share my experience with you about package delivery software. Now the first thing you should know about me is that I sell imported stuff in Africa. The business is good because they're a lot of demands for various stuff and all I have to do is import them and add my cut as a top-up. Now I have been doing this business for ten years so you can determine that it's successful because of longevity. So my buying market place was usually the U.A.E (United Arab Emirates) specifically Dubai and China because they had cheap stuff and were also in the business for a long time. Now I used to take flights over there and fill up the 2 containers full of products every after 2 months. And I usually waited for a week first to ensure that everything on the list was packed into the container. And secondly, I needed to ensure that I got the right container number, the containers were placed on the ship, and that the ship had left with the containers on board. Now the transport process usually took a whole month because it was by ship. The offload port was in Dar-es-Salaam where I resided. Thus after the offload, I had to go to the harbor to check for my containers.
Now during 2009, the shipping business went at risk after the rise of Somalian pirates on the sea. There were a lot of reports running in the news about hijacked ships on the coast of East Africa by Somalian pirates. At first, I thought to myself that it wasn’t a problem until in the summer of 2010 one of the ships carrying my 3 containers was hijacked. The process had me on the panic attack since the containers were carrying goods of almost half a million dollars altogether. Luckily the border patrol came to a rescue in 2 days in time while retrieving all the stolen goods. After that shipment, I decided to talk a long break from the business because of the trauma that it re-imposed on me. So while I was waiting for the situation to stabilize on the Indian Ocean route I lost a lot of customers due to inactivity. But one day in November that year I got approached by a friend who lives in America whose name is James. James and I hadn't seen each other for almost 8 years after he moved to the U.S. Now while we were talking, he asked about my business and if I was still doing it.
And I began to tell him about the incident that happened during the summer. The guy was astounded and then he asked me '' what will do now?'' That's when I replied '' I'll have to wait until the situation stabilizes''. Then he held his mouth while pondering for two minutes and that's when he asked me ''Have you ever tried importing stuff from the U.S it's cheap and fast there''. I replied ''really? Tell me more''. That's when he explained to me all the details in importing stuff from the U.S. One of the most important things that he filled me up on was there delivery tracking system.
What is the delivery tracking software?
According to James, The delivery tacking software is a software in which is used to track product pathways during delivery. James told me the software is incorporated in almost all U.S shipping and transport business platforms. And since my business was dealing with goods thus package tracking software was ideal for me. Thus after telling me this in January 2011, we did a purchase worth 50,000 dollars as a trail and it arrived successfully in 2 weeks in time. I was amazed and James had given me the solution to my business. Thus the important things I learned were
